The Ministry of Community United Methodist Church 2019 has been a powerful witness to our values of being in relationship and welcoming ALL. Here are just a few high points that in the communities giving, were made possible.
- developing and introducing the unique Discipleship Pathway to "Begin, Become, Belong & Bless" setting a language and a way to engage and intentionally live into following Jesus.
- 13 young people went to Twinlow Camp with the assistance of partial or full scholarships, connecting with Jesus, peers and the outdoors.
-Summer Conections took us out in the community and gathered us in good numbers, seeking to develop and deepen relationships with one another.
- Sound technology upgrades so that all people and events in our Celebration Hall can be better accessed and received.
- Weekend Food Packs. In one week we received enough congregational support to fund weekend food packs for the 18 HeadStart students who daily share our building.
-Our music ministries welcomed back the Christmas Cantata and introduced a successful "Moravian Style" worship focusing on music, reflection and Word.
And then there was participating in Day of Caring at Children's Village, Gift bags for residents at Orchard Ridge, exciting staffing changes and partnerships with Lake City High School Life Skills Class, Relatives as Parents foster support group and the building even got painted!
